I began hanging wallpaper full time in 1977. Before that, during my high school years, I apprenticed under my older brother who taught me the meaning of "attention-to-details"! We hung mostly high end papers such as, grass cloths, foils, mylars, silks, high gloss vinyl, hand print untrimmed papers, and flocks, mostly in the Memorial and Westchester areas of West Houston.
In 1980, I joined the US Army as a medic with the 4th Infantry Division, and Second Armored Cavalry Regiment. After my 3 year tour, I returned home with an honorable discharge to resume my wallpaper business.
Today, many of the wallcoverings I "cut my teeth on", are back in the sample books again. Grasscloths have come full circle--they're back in style!! Children's nurseries are a big hit! Metallics have returned! Damask patterns add depth to most rooms! And, of course, murals can define a personality! I also hang traditional wallpapers and vinyl.
New patterns and compositions of wallcoverings are making their way into mainstream decor. As a member of The National Guild of Professional Paperhangers (www.ngpp.org), rest assured, I stay on top of new innovations, compositions and procedures to ensure the job is done the way it should be.
I am pet and child friendly, and always consider your home environment while working.
