I guess last week was pretty much a mural installation week for me. I did some repairs, and alot of estimates too. But back to the murals.
My first job was to install two murals in a resident's house in Silver Ranch located in Katy. My client purchased her murals from Murals Your Way (www.muralsyourway.com). They custom made the World Map mural for her game room and her son's room, which was was an "up-side down" scene of a roller coaster ride. Boy, was that 9 year old thrilled when he came home from school!!
These murals were canvas, and although they say you can hang them yourself, don't be caught unawares when you have to float the walls, properly prime, line up the panels (engineering the wall) and double cutting. They tell you to overlap and use VOV if you are not comfortable double cutting. I carefully double cut the seams.
My next mural was for Jersey Mike's Subs at 5393 Westheimer near The Galleria. I came to work at 3:00 PM Saturday to prime the walls to give it time to dry so I could install it at 9:00 PM when they close. All went well!! If you are in the area, stop in to taste the most delicious sub in Houston. Makes you feel like you're back in "Joirsey"!! ha ha
Working out of town this week. Will return to Houston this weekend to attend a meeting with local "chapter-to-be" of The National Guild Of Professional Paperhangers, www.ngpp.org.
